Clapdale Wool Hand Dyed Field Multicolour 100g DK
Clapdale Wool Hand Dyed Field Multicolour 100g DK
A 100g hank of our Glencroft’s DK hand knit wool dyed by hand into all the colours of a Dales field - green, brown and blue. Manufactured entirely in Yorkshire from fleeces collected from two farms within 5 miles of our warehouse in Clapham, Yorkshire Dales.
The wool contains all the sheep breeds on these local farms - Dalesbred, Blue Face Leicester (BFL), North of England Mule and Texel.
It has produced a beautiful DK weight yarn with a reasonably soft handle. The wool is certified as "British Wool Traceable".
Due to the nature of the wool we have used, there will be some 'nep' - shorter natural coloured fibres.
FREE KNITTING PATTERNS - Each hank also has a link on the label to three free knitting patterns created by our local hand knit expert Sandra Oakeshott; for a bias scarf, child's hat & scarf and fingerless mittens.
Tension - 30 rows x 27 sts - 10cm (4") sq - 4mm needles / crochetLength - 220 metres / 240 yard approx
Clapdale Wool: Our wool is sourced from 7 farms within 10 miles of Glencroft's Yorkshire Dales home, in the dale of 'Clapdale'. Our farmers are paid more for their wool than at auction and receive a share of the profits of every product sold. The wool is then processed, from farm to yarn, within just 50 miles of the sheep it comes from. Certified as Traceable British Wool.
